Tech has been one of the few successful industries in Canada over the last few years.
In Canada, between 2019-2022, there was a significant boom in the cannabis industry. This was driven by the federal legalization of cannabis and the smallcap speculation surrounding it. As a result, a significant number of cannabis companies listed on the CSE and stock rose more than 10x their original
IPO price. However, the bubble eventually burst causing many of these companies to go bankrupt. But many major companies that are achieving or near-achieving profitability still remain with significant market caps.
We believe the next opportunity in Canada lies within tech. If a similar boom happens within the next few years, then investors should position themselves towards this leveraged opportunity. The average market cap for a technology company on the CSE is C$9.2M.
